Pencil Leads
Pilot, Faber-Castell, Pentel, Caran d'Ache, Stabilo, Staedtler.... Whatever the manufacturer, we have the pencil you need! Here you will find pencils in a variety of hardnesses, thicknesses and numbers. If you are looking for really thin pencils of 0.2 millimetres, you will find them here. Really thick pencils of 2 to 3 millimetres, well, you will also find them here of course. The sizes can vary from the most common 0.5 and 0.7, to the more unusual ones that are over 1 millimetre. The advantage of a thicker nib is that it does not break as easily, while thin nibs provide extra precision.
With a mechanical pencil you can sketch, draw and write. It is perhaps the most useful pen you can have, at least if you want to be able to change your mind again and again. Pencils are usually refilled using a very simple technique. Most pens can be refilled from the front at the tip, holding the click mechanism at the same time. Other pens can be refilled by lifting the click mechanism at the opposite end of the pen. This makes it easy to vary between hard and soft nibs, in different sizes, adapted to your particular pen.
The hardness or blackness of the nib is determined on a scale, from hardest to softest. The higher the number in combination with H, the harder the pen. But the higher the number in combination with B, the softer the pin. At the far end of the left edge you will find 9B and on the right edge 9H. The soft pencils are extra black on the paper, and are also good for shading as the softness creates nice transitions. The most common hardness to write with has the designation HB, as it is a mixture of both hardness and blackness, you get the best of both worlds.
But before you buy a pen, you must have a pen to fill. Naturally, you will find the best pencils in various price ranges with us. The erasers attached to the pencil may also be refillable, in which case they can be purchased separately. Just double-check the product description to make sure the eraser tip really fits your pencil. If there is any uncertainty, do not hesitate to contact us and we will help you.
Please feel free to pick and choose from our range of pens! With the right nib in your pen, you'll get great results and the best writing experience.
