Air-drying clays
Jumping on the ceramics trend has never been easier – with air-drying clay, you can create everything from sculptures to home accessories and decorative pieces using just your hands, some clay and a bit of water! Once you're finished, simply place your creation in a safe spot – it will harden at room temperature within 24–48 hours, no kiln required.
This brilliant material has many advantages – it's easy to use, more environmentally friendly than traditional ceramics, and made from mineral-based, natural ingredients. Most air-drying clays are composed of three key components: natural minerals (such as kaolin), water, and a binder (often plant-based or cellulose-based).
As the clay is water-based, you can easily adjust its consistency – if it starts to dry out or crumble, just add a little water to soften it again. Once it has fully dried, you can sand, paint or varnish the surface for a personalised and durable finish.
