Explore the expressive possibilities of charcoal in a new format. Schmincke Liquid Charcoal contains liquid charcoal in tubes, allowing you to work with charcoal techniques using brushes, palette knives and other painting tools. The result is deep blacks, lively textures and characterful surfaces that combine the qualities of drawing and painting.

The colours are water-soluble and can be used directly from the tube for bold, dark passages or diluted with water to create softer transitions and transparent effects. The fluid consistency makes it easy to cover larger areas whilst still allowing for fine details and subtle tonal variations.

The set contains three different liquid charcoal shades made from natural charcoal derived from different wood types. Each shade has its own character and tone, offering exciting opportunities to create variation and depth in sketches, studies and finished artworks.

Liquid Charcoal is ideal for mixed media techniques and can be combined with traditional charcoal, graphite, pencils and other water-based media. An inspiring choice for artists looking to explore new ways of working with charcoal.
