Sennelier Pastel À l'écu Portrait contains 48 soft pastels in a colour selection tailored to portraits and figure studies. The pastels are made from fine pigments mixed with chalk and porcelain clay, giving them a very soft consistency and making them easy to apply, blend and tone.

The set contains a selection of skin tones, pink, red and earthy shades, together with violet, blue and neutral colours. The colour range makes it possible to build up skin tones with different colour temperatures and create variation in light, shadows and details. The soft pastels can be blended directly on the paper to create smooth transitions between shades. The pastels should be fixed after use to preserve the finished result. Due to their chalk content, they are not suitable for washes.
