Staff Picks

When creating patterns and illustrations, I look for exciting colour combinations and textures. I work in mixed media such as acrylic, ink and watercolour using high-quality pigments. Gansai Tambi is a favourite, a versatile watercolour with gouache-like opacity and many beautiful colours to choose from. Posca is another, the perfect combination of both drawing and painting. Paper is just as important as colour, my favourites are from Sennelier and Arches as they can handle a lot of moisture and bring out texture in different ways. It’s most fun when you let the materials guide the creative journey.
