With these pencils, Derwent has combined qualities from both graphite and colored pencils to create this unique formula for watercolor pencils. When used dry the colors have a soft tint but once water is added the tint transforms into a rich pigment with a sheen synonymous with graphite. This makes the pencils versatile and ideal for mixed media work.

The colors are muted and come in both warm and cool tones. Colors can be modified and removed using a soft eraser and water once the color is dry.
