Schmincke Soft Pastel Starter Set 10-set contains ten extra-soft dry pastels in a carefully selected range of colours. The set provides an excellent introduction to Schmincke’s professional Soft Pastel range and offers a balanced colour palette for sketches, colour studies and smaller artworks. The colours have been chosen to provide great versatility when working with light, dark and vibrant tones.

Soft Pastel is Schmincke’s professional range of high-quality soft pastels. Made in Germany using a very high proportion of artists’ pigments and a minimal amount of binder, the pastels deliver intense colour strength, rich saturation and an exceptionally soft application. The high pigment concentration produces vibrant colours and smooth transitions with outstanding colour intensity.

The soft pastels adhere well to pastel paper and other textured surfaces where they can be blended, softened and built up in layers. Thanks to their velvety consistency, they are equally suited to quick sketches and more developed works of art.

The set includes the following colours:
