Staff Picks

I like to create patterns with hand-painted motifs. I make pattern repeats on paper, which I then scan and bring into Photoshop. When I paint my patterns, I enjoy using watercolours and gouache paints. I usually stick to the same favourite colour palette: purples, turquoise, magenta, deep sapphire green or Alizarin Red. I like to mix in white for a pastel feel. I also have my favourite brushes and paper types. At the end, I often use a fine-tipped fineliner for outlines.
